DITIS was a finalist for the first eEurope
awards: eEurope Awards on eHealth
Palliative care nurse Barbara Pitsillides
(PASYKAF), Professors Andreas Pitsillides and George Samaras
(UCY), and members of the DITIS research team participated
in eHealth 2003. An overview of DITIS was presented
to EU ministers and a longer talk on the research program,
its demonstrated benefits and future plans was delivered
as part of the thematic session on "Telemedicine
and Home Care eHealth Applications", which
attracted a lot of interest. Among the many officials
visiting the DITIS exhibition booth was the European Commissioner
for Information Society and Enterprise, Erkki Liikanen.
